All below ground waterproofing and the application of sealant to the alucobond on this iconic building was completed by Adhesion Sealing. We also applied non-slip stair nosings to the edge of the stairs. Also known as the “Students’ Library”, the Information Services Building won several major design and construction awards, including the NZ Master Builders’ Supreme Award for Commercial Projects 2003.

Adhesion Sealing used Voclay Voltex under the floor slabs and behind the below-ground wall panels on this refurbishment project. It is quick and economic to install, can be applied in most weather situations, and can be placed directly on compacted backfill or into pre-cast formwork. The choice of Voltex gave main contractors, HRS Construction Limited, a programme advantage.

This high profile heritage building on Dunedin’s Harbour Basin was renovated using torch-on membranes to the gutters and Dekclad acrylic cladding to the parapets. Tyfo pre-formed carbon fibre strips were also utilised to give structural integrity to the deck. The Tyfo system of composite strengthening was used to supersede traditional concrete and steel methods. These are lighter, less intrusive, non-corrosive and in some cases, stronger. Adhesion Sealing has extensive training on its application.
